Honorary Consul General of Morocco &
Chairman Pak Morocco Joint Business Council

Pakistan- Morocco

Trade Relation

Pakistan and Morocco are two brotherly Islamic countries tied with a strong knot of religious heritage, brotherhood and identity of views in all areas of common interest. Despite brotherly relation , the current trade volume does not depict the actual potential between both countries and is far behind the real potential. Bilateral trade is meagerly US$300 million and need to be increased substantially.
Being the Hon. Consul General of Morocco, its an honour for me to represent Morocco , a country I have a close association with and I consider Morocco as my second home. I am also the chairman Pak-Morocco joint business Council of FPCCI and Chairman Pak-Morocco joint business Council, which is playing Significant role in enhancing bilateral trade & investment between two countries.
It is my responsibility to enhance the bilateral trade and investment between the two countries which is stagnant at $300 Million , but needs to be enhanced substantially . I visit Morocco regularly and keep a close liaison with Moroccan Federation of chamber of commerce , member of joint business council and Moroccan business community.
In this connection , in the Past a FPCCI delegation led by myself as Vice President FPCCI along with prominent members of business community visited Morocco. The delegation along with Ambassador of Pakistan to Morocco had meetings with Mustapha Amhal President Moroccan federation & services and his team. The delegation also had B2B meetings with Moroccan business . An agreement of joint Business Council between both federations was signed by myself as VP FPCCI.

Chairman Pak Morocco Business Council and Mustapha Amhal President Moroccan federation & services . In order to enhance trade & investment and to achieve the objectives of joint business council., it is decided to organize a single country exhibition in Morocco Soon.
During the visit the delegation also had meetings with Prof Dr. Hzaine El Hassane, Director General Islamic Centre of Developments & his team for promoting business between Morocco & Pakistan . The delegation also have meetings with the President CGEM & his team to discuss the possibility of increasing the stagnant trade between the two countries. The delegation also had meetings with Governor of Casablanca & Marrakesh.
Morocco is the gateway to Africa and it is commendable to see the rapid progress made by Morocco in the recent years. The Biggest port of Africa & Mediterranean ‘Tanger Med’ and the newly inaugurated truly fastest train of Africa ‘Al Buraq’ is testimony of the progress morocco has achieved under the dynamic leadership of his Majesty King Mohammad VI.
Morocco is an emerging market with free trade agreements with USA, Europe &Turkey. Pakistani Businessmen can be benefited by joining hands with Moroccan entrepreneurs and get access to Europe, USA & Turkey markets.
Let us hope that the private sector of both of the countries will come closer to open new possibilities for bilateral trade.
